Iranian Kyrgyz Scholars Attend Quranic Conference in Bishkek

TEHRAN (IQNA) – A conference titled “Closeness of Cultures in Light of Quran” was held in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan with the participation of Iranian and Kyrgyz scholars.

 

According to the Islamic Culture and Relations Organization (ICRO), the conference was organized on the occasion of the 29th demise anniversary of Imam Khomeini (RA), the founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

The International University of Kyrgyzstan in the capital city hosted the gathering.

It sought to discuss the historical role of the Holy Quran in setting grounds for closer cultural relations among the people of the region and the Islamic world.

The participants also underlined the need for unity and solidarity in the Muslim world and enhanced interaction among Muslim scholars.

At the conclusion of the event, a statement was released in which the participants called for developing and deepening cooperation in cultural, academic, and scientific fields in the region to strengthen peaceful coexistence.  

On the sidelines of the conference, an exhibition featuring Quranic works and works related to the life and thoughts of Imam Khomeini.
